Board of Directors Meeting

Wednesday, October 13, 2005 7:30 pm

Call to Order 7:40 pm

Present: Rob Rider, Bob Weidner, Barbara Duchene, Ann Manning, Debbie Williams, Joe Jewell

Approve Minutes: Motion to approve July minutes. Seconded and approved. Motion to approve August minutes pending attachment of Treasurer’s Report. Seconded and approved.

President’s Report: The daughter of Matt Behl, co-owner and representative of NVPools, was murdered last month. Motion to contribute $250 to Children’s Hospital, as requested by the family. Motion seconded and approved. Board will reach out to the NVSL community to consider establishing a scholarship in her name.

Rob Rider resigned as the Board’s Director of Swim. Barbara Duchene will assume the title until General Membership election in March, 2006. Rob will take over the Pool Operations responsibilities, in return.

Treasurer’s Report (see attached): Approximately $10,000 to contribute to Capital Improvements fund after closeout of this year.  Presented spreadsheet of hypothetical dues/bond increases to fund various levels of Capital Improvements.

Committee Reports:

Capital Improvements: Discussion of possible phase-in of any facility improvement, considering various concerns, including cost and disruption of operations. Capital Improvements Committee expanded. All members will be contacted and will meet before next month’s BOD meeting. John Jensen, Bob Oresky, Juan Neal, Mike Anderson, Tom Mewborn, John Schumacher, Dave Lester, Tina Connor and Philip Howerton will be added to the committee.

Nominations Committee: Committee formally established. Rob Paxton, Barbara Duchene and Jennifer Macht will comprise committee. They will canvas membership, take nominations and present a recommended slate of candidates to the Board for election in March, 2006. Currently there are 4 slots open.

Financial Oversight Committee: Committee formally established. Jim Campbell, Loretta Herrold and Joe Jewell will comprise committee.

Next meeting:  Thursday November 17, 2005 at 7:30 pm
